MARIE WEST HOY Died Dec 22, 1987
Marie West Hoy, 91, of Morgantown and formerly of St. Marys, died Tuesday morning in Americare Nursing Center in Morgantown.
She was born in Pleasants County to the late George and Molly Pickens West. She was a member of the First Presbyterian
Church, Morgantown, and Friends of University Hospital. She was also a member of the Presbyterian Women.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John (Leah) Brisbane of Morgantown, and two sons, James W. Hoy of Vienna and Cyrus
H. Hoy of Rochester, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hoy; one daughter,
Mary Marie; one sister; and two brothers. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Ruttencutter
Funeral Home with the Rev. R. Dan Simmons officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys IOOF Cemetery.

Tuesday.

John
C. Barnes Jr. of Willow Island died at the St. Joseph's Hospital Thursday morning.
He was born in Scaggs, KY, son
of Mrs. Wilma Hoy Barnes of Prestonsburg, KY, and the late John C. Barnes. He moved to Willow Island two years
ago from Newport, OH; was a Navy veteran of World War II, was retired from American Cyanamid in 1970, attended the Freewill
Baptist Church in Middlebourne.
He is also survived by his widow, Mae Satterfield Barnes; three sons, Barry of
Norwalk, CA, Larry of Marietta, OH, and Tom of Dart, OH; two stepsons, Martin L. Corbin of Belmont and Roger Corbin of
Cairo; three stepdaughters, Patty Ann Corbin of Belmont, Mrs. Mary Lou Weekley of Eureka, and Susan Satterfield at
home; a brother, Robert of Waverly; a sister, Mrs. Pauline Dotson of Ashland, KY.
Funeral services were held at
1pm Sunday at the McClure-Schafer Funeral Home in Marietta, with the Rev. Myron Guiler officiating. Burial was
in the Willow Island Cemetery, with military rites.

M. Barnes, 87, of Parkersburg, died Tuesday in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg..
She was born
at Walker, a daughter of the later John R. And Cora Griffin Hoy. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She
is survived by one son, Robert, of Parkersburg; one daughter, Mrs. Everett (Pauline) Dotson of Prestonburg, KY.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Barnes Sr., in 1967; one son, one daughter, one brother, and two sisters.
Services
were held Friday at the George Street Church of Christ in St. Marys. Burial was in the Willow Island Cemetery.

Leah
H. Brisbane, 75, of Morgantown, formerly of Pleasants County, died Thursday at her residence.
She was born in St.
Marys, a daughter of the late Albert and Marie West Hoy. She was a 1935 graduate of St. Marys High School and had
been employed at West Virginia University in the office of purchasing and inventory.
She was a member of the
St. Marys Chapter 31 of Order of Eastern Star and First Presbyterian Church of Morgantown.
She was preceded in
death by one sister, Marie Hoy.
Surviving are her husband, Dr. John Brisbane; two brothers, Cyrus Hoy of Rochester,
NY, and James Hoy of Vienna.
Services will be 11am Tuesday at the Ruttencutter Funeral Home in St. Marys.
Burial in the IOOF Cemetery in St. Marys.
